Rouaida wins an award at her first UK trade show!
Rouaida’s work won the ‘Highly Commended’ award amongst newcomers at the British Craft Trade Fair 2018, at which 500 exhibitors displayed their work to thousands of discerning trade buyers.
Many commented favourably on the uniqueness of Rouaida’s designs, and she greatly enjoyed meeting representatives from galleries, museums and specialist retailers from as far afield as Devon and the Shetland Islands.
The beautiful trophy, as well as a fantastic sponsorship and support package, was presented by Angie and Paul Boyer from craft&design magazine who said:
“It was the elegant simplicity of Rouaida’s highly original jewellery and the sensitive display of her work that initially caught our attention in the Newcomers Gallery at the British Craft Trade Fair. Rouaida has a deep passion for her work, which is directly influenced by her native Lebanon, a country with a rich heritage of creativity. Now based in - and influenced by - West Yorkshire, Rouaida has an infectious enthusiasm for what she does that is not only a joy to see, but will also be a key element in her future success.”

BCTF organiser, Margeret Bunn, also said Rouaida was "shortlisted for the BCTF Award of Excellence which takes into account all the exhibitors; it's the only BCTF award to do this. We felt that your work was original, stylish, eye catching and very wearable."
